Kingsbridge strengthens advisory board with two key appointments to support growth ambitions as it targets £1bn assets

Developer welcomes DTRE co-founder David Turner and former CBRE executive Sue Clayton

Property developer Kingsbridge today (October 21) announces the appointment of two industry leaders to its advisory board to support its growth agenda for the next decade and beyond.

David Turner, co-founder and Managing Partner of leading industrial agency DTRE, and Sue Clayton, former Executive Director at CBRE and current Non-Executive Director at the FTSE 100 real estate investment trust SEGRO, will join the Advisory Board along with its current Chairman, Ian Playford.

The double appointment represents a significant statement for Kingsbridge, a family office backed developer of exceptional spaces for work, life and leisure, following its recent 20-year anniversary.

Building on Kingsbridge’s two decades of delivering market-leading, sustainability-led developments across industrial and office sectors, the incoming Advisory Board members bring expertise in development, joint ventures and partnerships, industry-leading ESG practices, and talent development.

The appointments are designed to help accelerate the Chichester based developer’s ambition to grow gross assets to £1bn, driving larger-scale schemes, new partnerships and continuing to develop its broader geographical reach across the UK.

Ian Playford, Chairman of the Advisory Board at Kingsbridge, said: "Enhancing our Advisory Board is a statement of ambition, investing in the long-term future of Kingsbridge. Sue and David are exceptional figures in UK real estate whose combined track record in scaling businesses and nurturing partnerships is second to none. Their strategic input will be invaluable as we accelerate our growth trajectory and cement our standing as a leading player in commercial and residential real estate.”

Chris Fry, Chief Executive Officer of Kingsbridge, added: "Having celebrated our 20th anniversary and built our presence as a leading regional developer, these advisory board appointments reflect the scale of our growth ambitions for the next decade and beyond. In Sue and David, we are privileged to be advised by two people who embody the values, entrepreneurial spirit, and forward-thinking leadership we stand for. Their expertise will directly support our push into bigger projects, new geographies, and wider real estate sectors, while keeping high-quality, sustainable development at the core of everything we do."

David Turner said: “Kingsbridge has spent 20 years building a fantastic reputation as an agile, responsible developer that delivers outstanding, sustainable projects and social value. I look forward to working with the team to help unlock the next phase of expansion."

Sue Clayton said: “I look forward to supporting the leadership team as Kingsbridge grows and diversifies, strengthens existing links and makes new partnerships, and nurtures the exceptional talent within its team to achieve its ambitions.”

The appointments build upon Kingsbridge’s successes over the last two decades in delivering best-in-class developments with a focus on sustainability. Recent schemes include delivering two last mile logistics schemes for Amazon in Havant and Cardiff; completing a 106,000 sq ft industrial unit in Poole let to IMI Poole (an IMI plc company); Ferne Park: a highly sustainable, award-winning 108,000 sq ft multi unit logistics scheme near Southampton; Connect 5, comprising commercial units in Hook, Hampshire, and Bottle Works, Guildford: a flagship urban regeneration project preserving the historical character of a former dairy plant while achieving a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating for sustainability.
