World Cup-themed event held as Kingsbridge scores completion of three highly sustainable industrial units at Connect 5, Hook

A new development of three best in class industrial units at Hook, Hampshire, was officially declared complete as Kingsbridge held a World Cup-themed event to mark its launch.

Kingsbridge welcomed agents and property industry colleagues to mark practical completion of works by its long-term construction partner, Amiri Construction, at Connect 5, Bartley Way.

Guests tested their skills on a football simulator, were gifted authentic England home shirts, and enjoyed stone-fired pizza, artisan ice cream and barista coffee served from a VW camper van.

Connect 5, close to Junction 5 of the M3, comprises a 37,910 sq ft detached unit, and two units of 9,350 sq ft that can be combined. The development benefits from BREEAM Outstanding, EPC A+ and 15% BNG.

Rachel Lacklison, Senior Asset Manager at Kingsbridge, said: “As England’s World Cup campaign begins, and we reach our goal of practical completion at Connect 5, we thought a football-themed event was a very good way to mark the occasion.

“We were pleased to welcome so many agents and colleagues to tour this outstanding development of high quality, sustainable units, which provides new opportunities for employers who want to upgrade to best-in-class premises in a very convenient location and we look forward to welcoming occupiers to the site.”

Jon Daines, Managing Director at Amiri Construction, said: “Amiri is proud to have partnered once again with Kingsbridge to successfully deliver Connect 5 to practical completion. Our long-standing relationship is built on a shared commitment to quality, collaboration and reliability. This project is a great example of what we can achieve together. We are particularly pleased to have delivered a high-quality, sustainable scheme that meets the evolving needs of occupiers while supporting greener, more efficient buildings for the future.”

Connect 5 brings employment use back to a derelict site, formerly the location of Europa House. The scheme is rated BREEAM Outstanding for sustainability with EPC A+ energy performance – the first in Hook to achieve this rating. It includes solar panels for electricity generation, a 100% electric energy strategy and is designed to deliver 15% Biodiversity Net Gain, exceeding the national 10% requirement.

Connect 5 also includes 82 on-site parking spaces, electric vehicle charging points with capability for future expansion, and bicycle storage.
