Acting on behalf of Kingsbridge Estates, Realest have now successfully let the 4th and 5th floors of Cumberland House to Smith & Williamson, one of the UK’s leading accountancy firms.
The deal which sees Smith & Williamson taking the top two floors of Cumberland House totalling 7,278 sq ft represents one of the largest lettings in Southampton city centre this year. The deal completes a very successful 12 months for Cumberland House following the letting by Realest of ground, 1st and 2nd floors to Regus late last year.
Steve Williams, Director at Realest, commented: “The arrival of Smith & Williamson into Cumberland House gives testament to Kingsbridge Estates investment in the property.”
“Since their acquisition of Cumberland House at the beginning of 2015 Kingsbridge Estates have ensured Cumberland House provides some of the best specification office accommodation in the city and with its prime location overlooking the parks and the civic offices it is no surprise that it has attracted discerning tenants of the calibre of Smith & Williamson.”
Chris Ridge of London Clancy who acted on behalf of Smith & Williamson added: “Securing a new lease for Smith & Williamson at Cumberland House has been a culmination of an 18 month period of space and market analysis both in the city centre and out of town locations. Identifying accommodation that satisfies all of the key criteria for Smith & Williamson has been a challenge in a market where there is a shortage of grade A space. We are delighted that we have been able to agree terms in Cumberland House on behalf of our client.”
Kingsbridge Estates, the owners of Cumberland House, are pleased that Smith & Williamson will be moving into the property.
Mark Hooper, Estates Director at Kingsbridge Estates, added: “Kingsbridge Estates are delighted to welcome Smith & Williamson as the new occupiers to Cumberland House. We are sure they will be a strong fit with the other businesses already in occupation at the premises.”
Smith & Williamson will move into Cumberland House at the end of October 2016.
